CISV has impacted my life in a huge way. I look at other cultures differently and have a more open mind to meeting other people. Through going to Norway and Michigan, I have met many people from all over the world.

Drew, age 17 Taylor Allderdice High School

CISV has made me aware of, and mindful of the world around me. CISV has given me countless opportunities to change the world, and it continues to do so

Charlie, age 18 Taylor Allderdice High School

CISV International has completely revolutionized the way I live. It has expanded my values, ideas, and beliefs beyond borders with the immense power of friendship and love. CISV is easily the greatest thing that ever happened to me, and I wish everyone could have the tremendous experiences I am privileged enough to have through this incredible organization.

Dighan, age 18 Taylor Allderdice High School

At first, I just wanted to travel. Now, it’s about the international friends I’ve made. Before the news didn’t mean much to me, now a story about a typhoon in the Philippines makes me think about the friends I have there.

Sam, age 13 Mountaineer Middle School

CISV is a huge part of my life, and has shaped who I am today, contributing to all my achievements and successes. I use it on every application and in every interview to demonstrate how everything I have learned – interpersonal skills to global awareness – makes me a desirable candidate.

Josh, age 21 Carnegie Mellon University

Since participating in a Village when I was 11, I’ve been discovering things about myself that have been influenced by my CISV experience: trust building, navigating friendships with peers from different cultures, personal growth, communicating pride in my culture while learning about and accepting others, pushing boundaries and having fun.

Danielle, age 24 Industrial designer

It has changed my life in many different ways, made me an open minded student who is willing to experience new things and given me a thirst for travel. The camps I’ve been to have given me long lasting memories and friends I will never forget.

Zainab, age 16 CAPA, Pittsburgh

When you see how well kids from around the world cooperate and understand one another in CISV camps, you start to wonder why this doesn’t always happen at the adult level.

Rosalie, age 22 Georgetown University

CISV has shown me that there is a lot going on in the world besides what is happening in the United States. This program makes me think how global issues affect the whole world. I also had the opportunity to do a Village program. It was amazing!

Sydney, Age 11 St. Edmunds Academy
